How do I get to Tuscany from the United States?
For guests flying from the East Coast of the United States, the most convenient way to reach Villa La Selva in Bucine, Italy is by flying into Florence Airport (FLR) or Pisa International Airport (PSA). Both airports are about 1 to 1.5 hours by car from the villa. Alternatively, you can fly into Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), which is about a 3-hour drive to Bucine.
Flights to Florence (FLR) and Pisa (PSA) will likely have one stop as there are usually no directs to these airports. Direct flights to Rome (FCO) are available.
For our East Coast guests, the most affordable and available options will be out of Boston or NYC airports.
Currently, economy flights from these airports will cost anywhere from $700-$950 round trip.
Travel Tip: Flights to Rome (FCO) tend to offer more options, but if you prefer to minimize travel time, we recommend booking a flight to Florence (FLR) or Pisa (PSA). Once you arrive, renting a car is the best way to travel to Villa La Selva and to explore the surrounding area. Tuscany is known for its scenic, winding roads, and having a car will give you the freedom to visit nearby towns, vineyards, and attractions at your own pace.
While train services are available from Rome to Florence or Arezzo, a taxi or rental car is needed from there to get to Bucine.
Passport Reminder
Please ensure your passport is valid for travel to Italy in August 2025. We recommend checking that it has at least six months’ validity from your travel dates, as this is required for entry into Italy. If your passport needs renewal, consider applying as soon as possible to avoid any delays.
